The National Park Service requires that all gardeners use organic farming methods. We at BRCGA understand the difficulty of ensuring that every seed and plant is certified organic so we do not require certification for every product.
We do, however, ban certain products that have synthetic fertilizers, chemical pesticides, and chemical herbicides that have the potential to spread to nearby plots and affect other gardeners.
Use of synthetic chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides or rodenticides
in plots and paths or adjacent land is strictly forbidden. Use of any of these poisons is grounds for immediate termination from BRCG. Products that are banned include, but are not limited to:
- MiracleGro products not labeled as “organic”
- RoundUp (Glyphosate)
- Sevin-5
